Brixton Village

I really wanted to take the Contax out for a shoot today, but it’s the hottest day of the year, and I couldn’t quite bear carrying the beast around. Instead, some iPhone snapping in Brixton Village will have to do…

I really do adore this alley of little eateries and cafés. And since I live within walking distance, it is my go-to brunch place. Today we went to Mama Lan for dumplings and ribbon tofu ban mien – nom!

iPhone Bokeh

My latest obsession with smartphone photography is… bokeh! I suppose there are various ways to achieve this, but my method is straightforward.

  1. Hold out your hand 5-10cm in front of your phone
  2. Move your hand out of the way, and take the snap almost simultaneously

Voilà! The camera has no time to re-focus, so you’re left with out-of-focus dreamy goodness. I think I’ll be using this technique a lot over Christmas break to capture all the festive lights!

Casetagram and Stickygram

This week, my phone cover from Casetagram arrived. It is a mosaic of photos that I’ve taken and edited using the Instagram app. I love it!

Also, I entered the Stickygram competition… and won! 8000 entries (of photographs with the theme ‘street’) and 3 winners – pretty chuffed with that!

Insta-London

I’m thoroughly looking forward to taking my camera out this weekend – it has certainly been a while! In the meantime, here are some recent Instagram snaps as I rush around London. This app has revolutionised mobile photography… (all of these were taken and edited solely on the iPhone)

And on that note, I’m excited for the My World Shared exhibition at East Gallery on Saturday. Yay for fellow Insta-Londoners!

Europe through the iPhone

I only took one lens on my trip – the 50mm f/1.4 – but my iPhone performed beautifully. My apps of choice are Instagram, ShakeIt Photo, Cross Process and Picture Show:
